About Magnolia Core Strategy Group
Founded in 2014 in New Taipei City, we specialise in customer retention planning for professional practices across Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region.
Registered business
Magnolia Core Strategy Group is the official registered business name of our firm. We operate from Office 6, 64 Sample Road, New Taipei City 00000, and serve clients throughout Taiwan and neighbouring markets where professional practices face similar client-relationship challenges.
Established 2014
The firm began when two former practice managers—one from a Taipei law firm, one from a multi-site dental group—noticed that consultants sold marketing campaigns but rarely addressed what happened after the first matter closed. They started documenting client journeys internally, then advising neighbouring practices on follow-up rhythms that did not require new software or agency contracts.
By 2017 we had formalised the retention audit methodology and added workshops for firms preparing for tax season or insurance renewal cycles. Today our team includes advisors with backgrounds in legal operations, clinic administration, and chartered accountancy client service—not technologists selling platforms.
How we work
We visit your office or join by video, interview the people who actually talk to clients, and read the documents your staff already use. Recommendations fit your team’s capacity: a solo practitioner gets a lighter plan than a twelve-partner firm, but both receive specific owners and dates—not vague “improve communication” bullets.
We decline engagements where leadership wants a report without changing front-line behaviour. Retention lives in reception calls, closure letters, and renewal conversations. If partners will not attend briefings or assign staff time, we say so upfront.
Values
Clarity over volume. Fewer, well-timed touchpoints beat monthly newsletters nobody reads.
Internal ownership. Your team runs retention; we design the system they can maintain.
Confidentiality. Client records stay in your control. We work from samples and anonymised summaries unless you authorise direct outreach.
Regional context. Taiwan’s professional cultures—from guanxi in legal referrals to family-panel dynamics in clinics—influence what clients expect. We account for that rather than importing Western playbooks unchanged.
Team
Our core advisors include Yang Hui-Chen, who managed client operations at a Taipei commercial law firm for nine years; Dr. James Wu, former clinic director focused on patient recall programmes; and Anita Koh, chartered accountant who led post-filing advisory outreach at a mid-size tax practice. Supporting researchers help with journey mapping and template drafting during audits.
Community
We host occasional roundtables for practice managers in New Taipei—no sales pitches, peer discussion of retention tactics. Ask us about the next session when you contact us.
